Mary Dawson Obituary

We are sad to announce that on November 29, 2020, at the age of 89, Mary Dawson of Valencia, Pennsylvania passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

Upon her retirement, Mary became Curator Emeritus and continued to visit her CMNH office to conduct research and socialize with colleagues every weekday until the COVID-19 pandemic forced the museum to close this past March.

“We met Mary in 1996 when we started our search for a Bernese Mountain Dog. Seven Berners later, we fondly remember Mary for her advise and friendship. Wonderful and caring person who always had time for you. The Bernese Mountain Dog club will forever be great full for her contribution to the development of the breed.”
