Michael Rhodes Obituary
We announce the death of Michael Rhodes in Valley View, Pennsylvania, who passed away on September 9, 2026, at the age of 82. Michael will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Luther Valentine Rhodes Jr. and Dorothy Edna Burkholder Rhodes; and his sisters, Ednilou Rhodes Reeder and Mary Frances "Babe" Rhodes Null. He is survived by: his former wife Judith Bearley; his children, Michael, Mary Ann and Stephen; his wife Patricia Rhodes; his children, Casey and Kathleen; and his siblings, Dr. Luther V. "Pat" Rhodes III, Charles "Chuck" Rhodes, Daniel "Danny" Rhodes, Stephen "Skip" Rhodes, Adelaide Rhodes Ryan and Sylvan "Shorty" Rhodes Norris. He is also survived by six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 21st 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Homes (200 N Main St, Lewistown, PA 17044). A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 21st 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in the name of Dr. Michael Rhodes to the George E. Moerkirk Emergency Medical Services (EMS), 2100 Mack Blvd., First Floor, Allentown, PA 18103, benefiting Eastern Pennsylvania EMT and paramedic programs and trauma education for physicians and nurses.
