He was predeceased by: his parents, Waino Hakkinen and Viola Hakkinen; and his sister Linda Ambers. He is survived by: his wife Gretchen (Hilbrecht); his daughter Lauren Hakkinen; his son-in-law Michael Gleicher; and his sister Lois (Michael McCort).
