He was predeceased by: his parents, Lucrezia Martines and Gaetin Martines; his son Joseph, Jr.; and his grandchildren, Melissa Tonkin and Michael Martines.

He is survived by: his wife Eileen; and his children, Irene Haas (Glenn), Teresa Magarity (James), Maria Needles (Stephen) and John Martines (Tracy). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in memory of Joseph J. Martines, Sr., may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
