He was predeceased by: his brother Alan Petersen. He is survived by: his parents, H. Allen Petersen of Warren and Norma G. Petersen of Russell; his wife Karen Lindell Petersen; his children, Jobie A. Petersen (Kelly) of Canonsburg, PA and Kasey P. Deja (Tom) of Collegeville, PA; his grandchildren, Kylie, Kaden Petersen, Drew and Ty Deja; and his sisters, Julie Stauffer (Joe) of York, PA and Lynn McCuen (Guy) of Port St.

The family suggests donations in memory of Jon be made to the Hunt of a Lifetime Foundation, P.O. Box 241, Haborcreek, PA, 16421, or to the Warren YMCA to for children's programs at 212 Lexington Ave. Warren, PA 16365 "A wonderful soul was taken from us way too early… until we meet again, rest easy my love, and may they have fast boats in Heaven".
