He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Shaffer Sr. and Mabel Arnold Shaffer; his sisters, Gladys Chase, Virginia Coughlin, Frances Decker, Marion Merch, Ella Joyce Peterson and JoAnn Gallupo; and his son-in-law Denny Rodgers.
He is survived by: his wife Janice M. Gage Shaffer; his children, Shelly Rodgers of Russell, Boyd Shaffer (Mary) of Frewsburg and Marjorie Adams (Jack) of Russell; his siblings, Norman Shaffer of Harrisburg, Stanley Shaffer of Corbett, NY, Beryl Miller of Falconer, Nancy Healey of Sugar Grove and Carol Davenport of Ashville, NY; and his grandchildren, Aaron Rodgers (Jessica), Jeff Rodgers, Chad Shaffer (Paige), Scott Shaffer (Kim), Jaclyn Peal (Ryan) and Brad Adams (Katherine). He is also survived by nine great grandchildren; two step grandchildren; four step great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, May 16th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, May 17th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Lander Community Church (5582 PA-957, Russell, PA 16345).
