He is survived by: his wife Diane; his stepchildren, Christine Mertz (John) and Brian Metzger (Kim); his grandchildren, Jake Mertz (Dicle), Caroline Mertz, Claire Metzger and Matthew Metzger; his former wife Patricia Dougherty Dillinger; his children, David Dillinger Jr. (Teri), Robert Dillinger, Elaine Dillinger and Diane Cole (Brian); his brother Paul (Mary); and his sibling's children, Dr. Lynn Beals, Sandra Beals and John Beals.
