Emma M. Dunmire Obituary
With sadness, we share the passing of Emma M. Dunmire of Washington Township, Pennsylvania. Emma, born on June 2, 1933, passed away on July 18, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel Altman and Hazel Altman (Hawk); her husband James W. Dunmire I; her daughter Emma Shirey; her son-in-law Donald Shirey; and her siblings, James Altman (Corrine), Eleanor Daily (Art), Clara Gardner (Gayle) and Frank Altman (Arlene).
She is survived by: her children, Nadene L. Bruce (Douglas) of Washington Township and James Dunmire (Debra) of Smyrna, SC; her grandchildren, D. J. Shirey (Linda), Rebecca Meyer (Richard), Lucas Shirey (Lauren), Zacharias Dunmire, Leslie Pruitt, Natalie Evans (Eric), Stephanie Kennedy (Zachary), Tyler Bruce (Jessica) and Erin Fanning (Jack); her great grandchildren, Leta DeSanto (Sam), Korbin Meyer, Renee, Elliot Shirey, Eric Jr., Olivia Evans, Ayden Sowers, Grace Kennedy, Emersyn Bruce and Oliver Fanning; and her great great grandchild Sammy DeSanto.
Emma was also very involved in the Relay for Life organized by the American Cancer Society.
