He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Comfort and Laura Standiford Comfort; and his siblings, Joe, Richard, Bill and Ruth Ellen Comfort.

He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Bruno; his children, Toni L. Comfort of Washington, PA, Jonathan A. Comfort (Kim) of Washington, PA and Jeffrey L. Comfort of Washington, PA; and his grandchildren, Ryan, Macy and Gia Comfort.
