He was predeceased by: his parents, James I. Hoy and Ruby Latshaw Hoy. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Lou Barr; his children, Johnny Brent Hoy (Cathy) of Virginia Beach, VA, Carla Jean Armstrong of Washington and Beth Ann Monsour (Joseph) of Ambridge; his sister Elsie Holovack (David) of Washington; his grandchildren, Tyler Hoy, Casey Pickett (Aaron), Carly Wise (Geoff), Shayne Mull (Nicole "Michelle"), Jamie Monsour and Rachel Fennell (Andrew); his brother James Hoy; and his grandson Ryan Armstrong. He is also survived by ten great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Even though he was my sister's father-in-law, I adopted him as mine as well. He reminded me of my dad with his strength as the rock, who held everyone together.
