He was predeceased by : his parents, James Ivery Sr. and Flossie Ward Ivery; his wife Mildred F. Dillard Ivery; and his brothers, James Ivery, Jr. and Harold Ivery.

He is survived by : his daughters, Carla E. Ivery of Washington and Dr. Jan M. Ivery of Atlanta, GA; his granddaughter Christine Ivery of Washington; and his great grandchild Simone Ivery of Washington. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
