He was predeceased by: his parents, Bert Gatten and Lucy Liming Gatten; his spouse Beverly Rose Barnard Gatten; and his brothers, James Ernest Gatten, John W. Gatten and Norman Gatten.
He is survived by: his children, Randy Gatten (Natalie) of Bridgeville, Timothy Gatten (Fabiola) of Washington, Sherry Auld (Michael) of Washington and LuAnn Gossett of Erie; his sister Lucille Hillberry of California; and his grandchildren, Lisa Auld, Aaron Gatten, Justin Gatten, Bradley Auld, Cassie Gatten, Jessica Tuttle, Brian Contino, Travis Gatten, Patsy Tranquilli, Jeremy and MacKenzie Gossett. He is also survived by sixteen great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
