He was predeceased by: his parents, Hollister Barger and Bessie Staley Barger; and his son Robert Barger (Terri Barger). He is survived by: his wife Rosetta Barger (Rhodes); his sons, Jim Barger (Leslie) of Washington, PA and William Barger (Carol) of South Carolina; and his brother Dan Barger (Peggy).
