He was predeceased by: his parents, William Crosbie Engle and Elizabeth Brown Engle; his wife Loraine Wheeler Engle; and his brothers, William Engle (Patricia) and Thomas Engle (Becky).
He is survived by: his children, John Engle, Jr. (Tom) of Pittsburgh, Linda Westfall (Bill) of Dover, OH, Robert Engle (Barb) of California and Elizabeth Knisely (Chris) of Washington; his sister Lona Vogeley (William); his siblings-in-law, Patricia Clark Engle, Becky Engle and James Wheeler (Judy); his grandchildren, Stephanie Norman (Zachary), Bill Westfall, Jr. (Kari), Katelyn Yoder (Tony), Hanna Engle, Amber Moore (Nathan) and Sarah Frazier (Troy); and his great grandchildren, Briana, Kinley, Zayden Norman, Lila, Leighton Westfall, Maverick, Quinn Yoder, Kal'el, Ezekiel and Shiloh Moore. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
