He was predeceased by: his parents, Lucy Donnan Stewart and Cecil Pinckney Northrop; and his wife Katharine Rose McCutchan. He is survived by: his brother William B. Northrop (Sally); his children, Margaretta (Peggy), Thomas Northrop (Peggy Ann) and Katharine Glass (John); his grandchildren, Emily Northrop, Grace Dalmolin (Jonathan), Anna Garrity (Sean), John Frey (Gabriella Rodriguez Berrios), Lydia MacArthur (Andrew), Ellen Davidovich (Kevin), Tyler Scheidt (Caitlin Molloy), Sally Akhtar (Ali), Adam Elder and Franny Elder (Teddy Roston); and his great grandchildren, Katharine Rose, Thomas Garrity, Flora, Oliver MacArthur, Leighton Dalmolin, Nora and Patrick Davidovich. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
