He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Rugg and Virginia Smith Rugg. He is survived by: his son John W. Rugg, Jr. (Megan) of Blue Ridge, VA; his stepson Dr. Christopher Castillo (Ania) of Abbington, MD; and his siblings, Herb Rugg (Betty) of Rockwood, PA, Bertha Hale-Cooper of Frostburg, MD and Betty Hartman (Bill) of New Bloomfield, PA. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; one great grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
