He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth E. Bierly and Thelma L. Bierly (Waddell); and his siblings, Michael, John, Jerry Bierly and Karen Carpenter.
He is survived by: his wife Mary; his children, Jolene Bierly of Willow Grove, PA and Joel A. Bierly Jr. (Ashley) of White Deer; his granddaughter Faith Bierly; and his brother Jeff Bierly (Sue) of Newburn, NC..
