We are sad to announce that on March 3, 2023 we had to say goodbye to Joan E. Coons of Waymart, Pennsylvania, born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Leave a sympathy message to the family in the guestbook on this memorial page of Joan E. Coons to show support.

She was predeceased by : her husband Donald R. Coons; her parents, Thomas Parke Atkins and Mary E. Atkins (Vernier); her son Donald Eric Coons; and her great grandchild Charlotte VanLeuven.

She is survived by : her children, Thomas (Lisa) of Waymart, Kurt (Diane) of Waymart, Julie Swingle (David) and Karen Matoushek (Karl); her grandchildren, Lyndsey Matoushek (Jeff Roth), Elijah Matoushek, Sara VanLeuven (Bradley), Kyle Coons, Parker Coons and Evan Coons; and her great grandchild Norah VanLeuven. She is also survived by several sisters; nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Joan's memory Allied Services Skilled Nursing, 303 Smallacombe Dr, Scranton, PA 18508.
