He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Everett Peterson and Dorothy Peterson; and his wife Alice Smolski Peterson. He is survived by: his sons, Dr. Michael Peterson (Gail) of Honesdale and Stephen Peterson (Vicki) of Nicholson; his brother-in-law Edward Smolski (Christine) of Florida; his grandsons, Bradford Peterson (Kaitlynn) of North Carolina, Tyler Peterson of Nanticoke and Andrew Cardone of Nicholson; his great grandchildren, Cooper and Tucker Peterson; and his siblings, Kenneth Peterson, Ralph Peterson (Joann) and Karen (Paul Fargo).
His career in mechanical engineering was marked by significant contributions to aerospace flight systems, particularly in guidance and navigation, following his education at Wayne State University.
