With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Alice Karppinen of Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Alice left this world on January 16, 2025 at the age of 96, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. Though Alice may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Alice touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, George Stoops and Clara Everett; her spouse Keijo Karppinen; her daughter Karen Karppinen; her son-in-law Buddy G. Goad, Jr.; and her sister Louise Conway.
She is survived by: her daughter Suzanne Goad-Williams (Patrick); her grandson Buddy G. Goad, III; and her brother Clifton Stoops.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 17th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the North East Methodist Cemetery (101 Cemetery Road, North East, MD 21901). A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, June 17th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the West Nottingham Presbyterian Church (1195 Firetower Rd, Colora, MD 21921).
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Alice may be made to West Nottingham Presbyterian Church in care of Crouch Funeral Home, 127 S. Main St., North East, MD 21901.
