He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry E. Scott Sr. and Hazel B. Scott (Stull); his wife Margaret S. Scott (Ferguson); his siblings, B. LaRue Strang, Harry E. Scott Jr., Thelma J. Shatzer and Robert Lee Scott; and his grandson Dane Cook.
He is survived by: his children, Alan Scott of Hagerstown, Robert Scott of Shippensburg, PA, Marion Ramsey of Waynesboro, Linda Stull of Waynesboro and James Scott of Waynesboro. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
