With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Richard E. Shubert of Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, who passed away on July 7, 2025 at the age of 79. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Richard E. Shubert to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Shubert and Dorothy Shubert (Stoner); his wife Margaret I. Shubert (Monn); and his granddaughters, Tiffany and Ericka Covalt.
He is survived by: his children, Peggi L. Maietta of State Line, PA, Penni I. Burkett of Hagerstown, Patti J. Covalt of Waynesboro, Amy J. Rumler of Indiana, Pammi S. Sims of Chambersburg, Angela R. Rhines of Waynesboro, Steven R. Shubert of Hagerstown, MD and Michael R. Shubert of Frederick, MD; and his siblings, Marvin Shubert, Ronald Shubert, John Shubert and Darlene Provencher. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home (50 S Broad St, Waynesboro, PA 17268). A funeral service was held on Friday, July 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
