As Wayne departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Wayne. Though Wayne may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was predeceased by: his father Elwood A. Smith; and his sister Donna Phillips. He is survived by: his mother Annamae Luther (Rice); his daughters, Jennifer Forrest (Boo) and Kim Richardson (Steven) of Waynesboro; his granddaughters, Hannah, Madilynn, Harleigh Forrest and Richardson; and his sisters, Sally Ortman of Gettysburg, Susan Hedrick (Mark) of Gettysburg and Charlene Stewart of Thurmont.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 8th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home (210 W Main St, Emmitsburg, MD 21727). A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 8th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
