He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Dains and Florence Dains (Durbin); his wife Lee A. Dains (Adams); his sisters, Cora Stevens, Ruth Waychoff and Mary Horner; and his stepdaughter Cindi Lee Phillips.
He is survived by: his children, Forrest Dains (Kim), Robert L. Dains II, Roy Dains (Susan), John Dains (Abbey), Sue Stanley and Susan Randolph (Ron); and his stepdaughter Tami Herrod (Jack). He is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
