With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Bernard R. Smith of Wellsboro, Pennsylvania, who passed away on October 31, 2025 at the age of 76. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Smith and Anna Smith (Hughes); his siblings, LeRoy, Ronnie (Mildred), Richard, Walter, Rickey and Nancy (Tom Starkweather); his niece Janet; his nephews, Rocky and Bobby; his siblings-in-law, Robert Putman and Peggy Putman Davis; and his pets, Sadie and Chewie.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Putman; his children, Julie Berger (Art) of Manchester, Jeff Smith (Stacy) of Wellsboro and Jon Smith of Wellsboro; his brothers, Gene Smith of Wellsboro and Tom Smith (Bonnie) of Mansfield; his grandchildren, Zach, Zoey and Keira; and his siblings-in-law, Katie Smith, Rosie Heck (Gene) and Tom Putman. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
