He was predeceased by: his parents, Clair M. Shearer and Dora A. Shearer (Stambaugh); his son-in-law Glenn A. Miller; and his siblings, Niles H. Shearer and Maryellen L. Myers.
He is survived by: his daughter Debra J. Miller of Dover; and his brother Carl R. Shearer (G. Diane) of Dillsburg. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
