He was predeceased by: his parents, William S. Patten and Katherine C. Patten; and his brother William Carpenter Patten. He is survived by: his wife Connie Pryor Patten; his sons, Christopher P. Patten (Alison), D. Andrew Patten and Jason C. Patten; and his sisters, Linda Fenton of Florida and Martha Lodge of North Carolina. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
