He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Brinton and Mariam Brinton; his wife Joan Ruth Zimmerman (Toni); and his sister Martha Mermier. He is survived by: his children, Garry (Ricki Hurwitz), Gail Bryan (Caesar) and Chris (Lisa); and his girlfriend Phoebe Driscoll.
