He was predeceased by: his parents, John A. Smith and Mary Smith; and his sister Eileen McKenna. He is survived by: his wife Suzanne M. "Sue" Smith; his children, John D. Smith (Lisa) and Suzy Harper (Joe); his siblings, Mary Theresa Hale (late Jim), Claire Smith, Michael P. Smith (Terry), Andrea Newdeck (Bud) and Ellen Hagen (Jim); his grandchildren, Ian, JoLynn, Julia, Declan, Payton, Ricky and Lexi; and his brother-in-law Ed McKenna (Ann). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
