He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph B. E. and Catherine Brumfield; and his sister Nancy O'Brien (Tom). He is survived by: his wife Carol Ann; his children, Jane C. Crawford (Jaime), Lynn A. Deitrick (Kenny) and Joseph E. Brumfield Jr.; his grandchildren, Connor J. Crawford, Catherine E. Crawford, Grace K. Deitrick and Christian J. Deitrick; and his siblings, Theresa Means (late Stew) and James Brumfield (Joy).
