She was predeceased by: her husband James Pagel Smyth; and her son James Joseph Smyth. She is survived by: her daughters, Shelley Ann Francies (James Francies) of Lyndell and Joanna Smyth Lupo (Joseph Lupo) of Landenberg; her close friends, Ryan Francies (Allison Francies), Susanna Francies (James Horton), Victoria Francies (Burditt Zackary), Sondra Lupo (Angel Alcorchas), Myles Lupo (Liz Prisco) and Louisa Lupo (John Seitz); and her great grandchildren, Katherine, Marlo, Josie, Violet, Nathaneal, Natalia, Emilia and Eric. She is also survived by children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In her retirement, Mary Ann devoted more than 15 years to volunteering at the American Cancer Society Rediscovery Shop, in Malvern.
