He was predeceased by: his wife Elizabeth "Betty" J. Cox (Williamson); his parents, Melvin K. Cox Sr. and Florence Mills Cox; his son Gary K. Cox; and his siblings, Martin Cox and Florence "Sis" Lehman.
He is survived by: his children, Charlene J. Cox and Randall S. Cox (Kelley); his granddaughter Carrie Kita (Christopher); his daughter Megan Cox (Kevin Zunic); his stepgrandchildren, Amanda Harnish (Bronson) and Taylor Davis; his daughter-in-law Bonnie McKee; and his sister-in-law Nancy Cox. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
