He was predeceased by: his parents, Isaac Thomas and Rita Thomas (Mazella); his brother George Thomas; and his brother-in-law Tom Gregory (Tammy). He is survived by: his wife Rita Thomas (Gryzewski); his daughters, Kimberly Thomas Sherlock (Steve Buonato), Nancy McCloskey (Thomas "Henry") and Jill Chambers (Paul); his brother Richard Thomas (Joanne); and his brother-in-law Len Gregory (Nancy).
