He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Brinton and Katharine Armstrong Brinton. He is survived by: his wife Helene Brinton; his stepsons, Jamie Schemmer of West Chester, PA and Daniel Schemmer (Anna); his daughter Susan Bakay (Ferenc); and his stepdaughters, Helene McComsey (Michael) and Krista Campagna (Michael).

“Mr. Brinton, you were my teacher and coach in the early 1980's. You imparted a sense of self determination in me that I took an ran with. Yes, you could be harsh, but I took that as a learning experience. You gave me a recommendation for my application to medical school, and yes I got in. Not only that, I succeeded and became an anesthesiologist, not an average anesthesiologist. You taught me to be the best I could be. I did that. Am I the greatest? I am not sure of that. Excellent, yes.”
