He is survived by: his wife Dorothy S. Giffing; his sons, Michael Giffing and Steven Giffing; and his siblings, Elizabeth Carter, Virginia Ruth Giffing, Mildred Reesey, Janet Carey, Carole Bannon, Margaret Berry and Jack Giffing. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren.
