With solemn reverence, we commemorate Nicholas Anthony Gentile of West Mifflin, Pennsylvania, whose life came to an end on April 13, 2025 at the age of 95, leaving behind cherished memories. He was predeceased by: his parents, Carlo Gentile and Catherine Gentile (Loggozzo); and his siblings, Amelia Tirpak (late Edward), Anthony Gentile, Carl Gentile and Rina Thomas (late Edward).

He is survived by: his wife Geraldine "Gerry" Gentile (Pendro); his children, Nicholas Alexander Gentile (Lisa) and Ann Gentile; and his brother Dr. Anthony Gentile.

“Most memorable teacher I’ve ever had, and an excellent one at that. When he pulled out his “magic classes” to peer into your brain and declare “I see nothing there!” you knew that HE knew you weren’t getting it. So he made sure you did. He never gave a written test, because “Every day is test day!” Thanks to Mr. Gentile I was place directly in calculus as a college freshman. No prerequisite courses needed. I will always remember him, and I hope his family knows what an impact he had.”

“Best teacher ever! “This is asinine!” We sixteen year olds had never heard such verbal abuse before in school. We sat up straighter in our chairs, stared at the math on the board even harder, and damned if we didn’t actually understand those theorems! Or at least we had a month or two when we understood, before we forgot them under the overload of new theorems! But, have no fear…we still had our Gentile notebooks!!! Those great resources remained in my reference library for years!”
