He was predeceased by: his wife Anne Murphy (Pugarelli); his parents, John W. Murphy and Ella Murphy (Heffron); and his daughters, Kathryn Murphy and Susan McGuane (Mark).
He is survived by: his children, Deborah A. Fisher (Thomas) and John W. Murphy, III (Mihaela). He is also survived by nine grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
