He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas G. Swales, Sr. and Eleanor (Lindsey). He is survived by: his wife Barbara Swales (Lucas); his children, Justine Hein (Michael), Stephen Swales (Jennifer), Pamela Butziger (Peter), Larissa Modesitt (Brian), Carrie Wolf (Joseph) and Tasha Newill (Ryan); and his sister Louise Tiffany. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren.
