He was predeceased by: his parents, Angelo B. McGowan and Margaret J. McGowan (Erkens); his wife Patricia McGowan (Murphy); his fiancée Verna Craig; his siblings, Margaret Hartle, Aloysius, Richard and John; and his daughter-in-law Cindy McGowan.
He is survived by: his children, Edward J. McGowan Jr. (Trina), Eric J. McGowan (Cindy), Mary F. Northcott (Mark), Erol J. McGowan (Shai), Eugene J. McGowan (Aimee) and Mary "Betsy" Coyle (Daniel); and his grandchildren, Breana Fowler (Nate), Ryan Northcott, Zachary McGowan, Ashlyn Northcott, Bryn Havel (Erica), Daniel "Trey" Coyle, Garrett Havel, Sean Northcott, Lauren Coyle and Alexa "Lexie" Coyle.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, on Sunday, July 20th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the H. Jack Buzard Funeral Homes, Inc. (201 S Washington St, Eau Claire, PA 16030). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, July 21st 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Saint Louis Catholic Church (202 W State St, West Sunbury, PA 16061).
