He was predeceased by: his son Philip Schmitt; and his siblings, Joseph Ninehauser and Alice Maddock. He is survived by: his wife Janet Schmitt; his sons, Mark Schmitt (Jessica) and Matthew Schmitt; his grandsons, Austin Schmitt (Harley Dischner) and Philip Schmitt; and his son F. H.. He is also survived by many brothers- and sisters-in-laws, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
