He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Johnson and Mattie Peterson; his stepfather Percy Peterson; his wife Laverne; his daughter Tonya Adair Wilson; his granddaughter Haley Peterson-Banks; and his brother Richard James Peterson.
He is survived by: his children, Tracey L. Peterson-Banks (Henry L., III) of Hermitage and Robert E. Peterson, II (Jill D.) of Farrell; his grandchildren, Edward Peterson-Banks (Ashley), Kayla Peterson, LaCarra Peterson, Henry Peterson-Banks, Jr. (Casey), Sydney Peterson, Cameron Green, Hensley Peterson-Banks, Robert Peterson, III, Shawn Wilson, Hannah Peterson-Banks and Robert Wilson; and his siblings, Jackie "Sonny" Peterson of Pittsburgh, Shirley Banks of Pittsburgh and Delores Peterson of Farrell. He is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren.
