He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas R. Schmitz and Helen Hartwick Schmitz. He is survived by: his wife Janine Samios Schmitz; his children, David Schmitz (Jennifer) of Bridgeville, PA and Theresa Schmitz (Jeremy Lista) of Ambler, PA; his grandchildren, Mackenzie and Hendriks; and his brother John Schmitz (Marcia) of White Oak, PA.
A memorial gathering was held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, October 15th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the White Oak Cremation & Mortuary Services, Inc. (1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, October 16th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Angela Merici Church (2701 Kelly St, White Oak, PA 15131).
