He was predeceased by: his parents, Doris Barum (Nolf) and Robert M. Barum; and his brother-in-law Rick Pasay. He is survived by: his close friend Jan Barum (Pasay); his daughter Katie Smerkol (Sam); his grandson Jacob; his siblings, Jim (Debbie), John (Jeri) and Karen (David); and his siblings-in-law, Kathy Schur (late Rich), Denis and Mary Jo Pasay.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 29th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the John F. Slater Funeral Home, Inc. (4201 Brownsville Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15227). A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 30th 2025 at 10:00 AM.
