We bid farewell to Michael J. Rushton (Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania), whose journey of life gracefully concluded on July 8, 2025 at the age of 87. Michael touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. Though his name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Michael leaves upon the hearts of his loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of his spirit and the richness of his legacy.

He was predeceased by: his parents, James P. Rushton and Amelia Rushton (Luongo); and his sister Amelia "Polly" Rushton Barrett. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Rushton; his sons, Michael and Jim; his grandchildren, Brittany Hagan (Robert Jr.) and James Rushton; and his great grandchild Robert "Tripp" T. Hagan III.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 15th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Bernadine Hall. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, July 15th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Bernadine Hall at Saints Peter and Paul Church (13 Hudson Rd, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18705).

Michael's family request that flowers be omitted and Memorial Donations may be made to the SPCA of Luzerne County, 524 E. Main Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702 or to Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge, 974 Lockville Road, Dallas, PA 18612 in Mike's memory.
