Viola Williams Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Viola Williams of Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania, who passed away on September 14, 2025, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James Moore and Katherine Rushton Moore Kolessa; her husband Richard A. Williams; her daughter Denise Godumski; and her brother Joseph Moore.
She is survived by: her children, Grace Garlan (Jim), Bruce Williams and Terri Coleman (Eric); her son-in-law Dave Godumski; and her sister Nancy Puterbaugh. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 17th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, September 18th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Nat Gawlas Jordan Funeral Home (89 Park Ave, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702). A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Viola's memory to the Alzheimer's Association, Attention Donor Services, 225 N. Michigan Avenue, Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
