He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Barteld and Jennie Barteld; his former wife Thelma Barteld (Stephens); his brother Donald Barteld; and his son-in-law Ted Kozemko.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret Barteld; his daughter Pamela Kozemko; his grandchildren, Corinne Santarelli (Anthony) and Jared Kozemko (Cheryl); and his great grandchildren, Madelyn and Mia Santarelli.
