He was predeceased by: his parents, Sidney J. Gipson, Sr. and Loie E. Horton; his son Billy Gipson; and his brothers, James and Dallas Gipson.

He is survived by: his wife Lisa E. Gipson (Evans); his children, Miley, Alyssa Bloom, Johnny, Ronnie and Charles Gipson; his stepchildren, Victoria Williams and Lynn Bloom; and his granddaughter Jasmine Penrod. He is also survived by numerous other grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made directly to the family.
