He was predeceased by: his parents, Milford "Dale" Hess and Eleanor Hess Miller (Vogel); and his stepsiblings, Patricia, Joyce and Jerry.
He is survived by: his siblings, Joseph W. "Joe" Hess and Darlene A. Hepler.
