He was predeceased by: his siblings, George Bitner and Jean Sompel. He is survived by: his wife Marian; his children, Lola Minier (Greg) of Cypress, TX, Wayne Bitner (Lynn) of Mill Hall, Wes Bitner (Shari) of Cypress, TX and Bonnie Rhinehart (Jeff Allegrucci) of Muncy; and his brother Gary Bitner. He is also survived by his wife, children, stepchildren, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brother, extended family, and friends.
