He was predeceased by: his parents, Myron J. "Hunce" Shaffer and Betty Lou Shaffer (Ringler); and his brothers, Richard and Dennis. He is survived by: his wife Patti (Novak); his son Greg (Julie); his grandchildren, Weston, William and Maxy of Maryland; his son Doug (Courtney) of Windber; and his grandchild Bodie. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends.
